The Nursery Rhyme Project:
After years of writing and producing children's music - much of it drawing on the rich aural tradition of 'hand me down' songs - it is with excitement that I finally embark on an ambitious project to publish a comprehensive compendium of singable Nursery Rhymes!
The Idea
To grow a comprehensive library of high quality, yet simple, arrangements of Nursery Rhymes that tick the following boxes:
- Real instruments
- Comfortable singing range
- Clear vocals with UK accents
The library would serve a variety of purposes:
- Personal use: totally free streaming of all titles
- Company use: very reasonable download fees (per song) for pre-school Music Activity groups to make their own CD compilations or off-line smartphone playlists
- Licensing options: broadcast, sync or use of backing tracks to record bespoke versions (fees by negotiation and dependent of use)
Format
Each Nursery Rhyme will have its own Blog Post containing some interesting/useful background information and a widget to play our version of the song. As the collection grows, the blog will contain a search facility to quickly find songs by keywords.
At the bottom of each post there will also be a link to a growing playlist (opening in a new window) that will contain the entire collection for FREE streaming and purchase options.
